Two story addition is coming along nicely

by Allen

Two story addition

The addition in Lyndeborough NH is completely framed, the windows are installed, the roof is shingled and the siding will be installed this week. The Electrician and Plumber are working very hard inside getting the addition roughed in, once they are finished we can start on the insulation and drywall.
The addition is 20×30, 1,200 square feet of living space plus the Homeowner wants us to finish the basement so she will be able to use it as a craft room.
From these pictures you can see how we bumped out the left side of the addition, a turret per se, that is all windows.
In the picture our friends from Souhegan Lawn Care of Amherst NH were over to provide an estimate for hardscape and landscaping.
Want to send a big shout out to Jeremiah Carter and Eric Depont for all the hard work they have put in for building this addition with Keith, you guys rock!!!

Bedford NH Bathroom Addition is Complete

by Allen

We finished the Bedford NH bathroom dormer in the beginning of March and the Homeowner just sent me some finish pictures that I wanted to share. The finishing touches are in the mosaic tile, the chair rail (bead board), the matching trim to the house and the meticulous finish paint job. The entire project matches the antique look of the existing historic house.

Building an addition in Lyndeborough NH

by Allen

Here are before and during pictures of an addition we are building for a customer in Lyndeborough NH. Thankfully due to the mild winter we are currently having this year Keith was able to have our Excavator, Ken Rocca, dig a 20×30 hole in the ground and not have to worry about frost (since there was none). We then had Jeff Creighton of JC Foundations come in and set forms for the foundation and last but not least Gary Senecal of Milford NH poured the cement pad for our basement. Everyone pulled together and we had the entire foundation ready in just two weeks. A plan always comes together when you hire some of the best sub-contactors in Southern NH.
This is going to be a great project to document as we are building a two story addition to include a master bedroom and bathroom, dining room and living room. I am excited to see how Keith will build the new roof line in conjunction with the existing old farmhouse roof. There was some challenging times when the foundation was going in because the existing farmhouse had a rock foundation and Keith needed to make sure that the new addition was properly secured to the new cement foundation, a lot of engineering and everything synched up perfectly. Next week I will have pictures to show of the second story and the new roof line, very exciting!

Window installed, siding complete

by Allen

Dormer

Ok, the triple, awning window has arrived from Harvey Industries. We installed the window on Monday and installed the siding right up to the window to finalize the outside. On Tuesday, the inspector passed our framing inspection and we were able to insulate and hang the drywall. We are also installing a chair-rail and wainscoting on the entire lower half of the bathroom addition. I think we have another 2 weeks to finish up the trim work, painting, flooring and finish plumbing and electric. The Homeowner is excited to have the bathroom finished and workable.

Waiting for a window delivery for the Bedford NH job

by Allen

Ok, I have not written about the Bedford NH dormer for a few days because we are held up by the window delivery from Harvey Building Products. They had some trouble with their manufacturing plant and delayed our window by one week. The dormer is completely framed, sided and shingled. The electrician (Evan Jones from Milford NH) and the plumber (John King from New Boston NH) have finished their rough installation. Before we can insulate and drywall we must have the window installed before the Bedford Town Inspector will let us progress. Jeremiah put plywood over the opening and tightly adhered plastic to keep the addition out of the elements. Tomorrow they will keep busy by installing the sub floor in preparation for the tile bathroom floor. There are some things you cannot prevent from slowing down your job. The good news is we should have the awning window delivered no later than Wednesday of next week.
