The drywall has been installed for the addition in Bedford NH and the room looks spectacular. The master bedroom and the family room now look like an actual room and the Homeowners can visualize themselves in these newly constructed rooms. Our taper is in the rooms now apply mud and tape to the seams, 4 coats of mud and one application of tape, so the room will be ready for us to paint next week. After we paint the finish trim will go up next, window trim, door trim and baseboard (and possible crown molding).
With the exterior of the addition buttoned up, roof is shingled and the addition is covered with Tyvec (we are working on the new wood siding shingles now). The inside is completely framed for interior walls. The Bedford NH building inspector came by and signed off on our rough frame, electric, plumbing and our insulation. (Allen Remodeling highly recommends Quality Insulation for all your insulation needs). Now we are ready to hang drywall.
Exterior completely framed in Bedford NH
Two weeks ago I posted a picture on my blog of the second story exterior work being completed. This picture I am posted today shows how we filled in the front porch by putting in structural framing and installing two new double hung windows. This will add room to the new upstairs living room and will increase the size of the new mudroom we are creating for them downstairs.
The job in Bedford NH is coming along nicely. We have framed the second story addition using 2×6 lumber and roof trusses. The addition has been roofed and the interior walls have been framed. Next week the guys will start siding the addition and Evan Jones, Electrician (from Milford NH) and John King Plumbing (New Boston NH) will start their work next week.
Thinking about Fall and Winter Projects
Now that Fall is slowly approaching New England Homeowners are thinking about interior projects such as bathroom remodels, kitchen remodels, basement remodels. This is also a perfect project for Contractors who like to work indoors in the winter. We do enjoy our inside winter work but we have put many foundations in the ground late December with no concerns and with the mild winter this past year we put a foundation in February. So anyone in the Souhegan Valley to include Amherst, Bedford, Merrimack, Mont Vernon, Temple, Brookline, Wilton or any other outlying area give Allen Remodeling call for all your remodeling projects.
