Obtain a well Written Estimate/Proposal from your General Contractor
If you are thinking of building your next home addition, in-law apartment, garage addition, family room, sunroom or master bedroom you should begin planning now for a Spring project. After contacting, meeting your General Contractor to discuss the specifics of room addition, home renovation, you must have the Contractor produce a written proposal that includes everything that will be included for your new addition.
Working with Allen Remodeling, Keith and Barbara will meet with the Homeowner and discuss the project, we will provide a detailed written proposal, we will then meet with the Homeowner at least once or twice to review the proposal because one thing Keith and Barbara encourage is no surprises on the job, everything will be documented.
This process takes a few weeks to ensure both the Homeowner and the General Contractor are happy with the document. Next the General Contractor will provide a building permit to the Town Building Department for review, this can take up to two weeks. So if we starting the detailing process in the begging of February we will be ready to build around mid March and by then the ground is ready for an Excavation Contractor to start digging. And then we can start ordering materials form PJ Currier Lumber who we purchase most of our building materials from.
