Deck and Ramp

The deck in Milford NH is almost complete, the ramp is just about built but we ran into a snag. The Homeowner wanted to replace the ramp from the previous deck with a similar slant as before. The Town of Milford NH requires any ramp to be built to meet handicap ramp code. With a slope of 1” per foot the ramp would be three times the size of the patio and would look extremely out of place. Keith had a great suggestion, end the ramp at the end of the deck, merge to a platform and then build four stairs, if in the future they do need a handicap ramp then you can change the configuration. Our philosophy is to devise a solution in which everyone will be satisfied.
